College Park’sWaste Assessment
College Park began the year by performing a Waste Assessment to figure out how much trash -- and how much recyclable material -- is thrown away each day.

In the first year of the grant program, College Park Elementary will:

Begin recycling classroom/office paper
Encourage students to reuse scratch paper and reduce the amount of paper towels used with ”The 2 pump rule!”
Encourage teachers to make double-sided copies and circulate staff bulletins electronically
The student members of College Park’s Green Team will also:
Hand out a recycling flag to the class that recycles the most paper each week at Flag Deck
Create posters made from recycled materials to post around campus
Hold a recycling bin decorating contest
