Brown’sWaste Assessment
Brown students started the year out strong by performing their very own Waste Assessment. See how they did it in a step-by-step process, easy for any school to do.
In the first year of the program, Brown students and teachers have:
·
Added e-waste recycling for cell phones, print cartridges, and much more (they’re getting paid for it -- you can too!)
Declared a Waste-Free Lunch program
Reduced the usage of disposable utensils and containers in the cafeteria
To make sure everyone knows about the new program, a new student eco club has been formed, along with the following activities:
Art made from recycled materials will be on display throughout the school
Daily reports on the P.A. Are read by students, giving tips on how to be green and congratulating those who packed a Zero Waste Lunch
Student involvement in the school garden will increase
